Make the dungeon a reading corner. a nice one person chair. Small round table. Some vines growing on the side and a plant pot like extended from the house stone. (waterfall?) A light with a warm color. And thefloor partially out of nice wood.
The perfect place to read a newspaper in the morning with a nice espresso.

Dude don’t paint grandmas house ceiling. Stain it for sure. That house would be perfect for family reunions. Maybe put some extra cookware in the pantry so people don’t have to bring pots and pans for big gatherings. That house is so freaking beautiful brother. Congratulations brother!!

I think you know that the Demolitia will ALWAYS have your back - those houses will book so quickly... I agree that the dungeon should be a quiet reading nook, somewhere to escape. Warm lighting, squishy seating... perfect. I really hope that one day I'll be able to get across the pond and see the Desperado. So great to see the resort slowly waking up after a long sleep...

I think you should stain the rafters and the wood around the house, its just my preference because i love how wood looks when it has a light to medium stain.

Mamas house has TONS of character. I wouldn’t do too much to it except stain the wood ceilings etc. paint would look tacky and destroy the comfy feel.

This house would be great to list as party of a wedding package. Great place for a wedding party to stay and get ready. This would perfect place to attach to venue or package deals for your other promotions or amenities. A sportsman’s package that has shooting, kayaking, ATVs and this house would make an amazing “experience” to list.

Hooks in the pantry look to be for cast iron pots and pans to hang on.

Stain or varnish the wooden beams. Try and keep as much of the character of the house as possible. But definitely paint the yellow kitchen

I am in a wheelchair and Matt you should make a bigger deal of handicapped accessible. It is difficult to find an Airbnb that is handicapped accessible. Please pave an area from ramp to car as wheelchairs don't do well in gravel. Well done Matt!

As for the Mama'a house, with its odd rambling architecture, you should call it the Grandma Winchester's House. And you can find plenty of Winchester logo decor. (Mirrors, posters, signs, and perhaps an original Winchester Bullet Board (to display behind glass.)

Sand the Master bedroom's floors, and stain them, and wood rafters, a golden shade stain, or maybe a little darker. Nice place!!

Love quirky houses like that. Stain the rafters not paint. Change tile in kitchen. Looks like most of the reno would be tackling the rafters, tule and paint in the kitchen and basic bathroom upgrades. That dungeon could be a wine cellar.

Keep the yellow its part of the charm. The ceilings should be painted or stained though. Maybe let some visiting youtubers stay in it for a few days before you rent it and have them give you feedback on what to improve.

That house is AWESOME the kitchen is FABULOUS love the butlers pantry with all the shelves leave that as is mayb just tone down the kitchen walls but thats all for kitchen. That place id huge...love love love it❤❤

Matt in the master bathroom put a sauna in the room you are planing to close off. That seems to be the only thing the house doesn't have. Good luck my friend

In the master bathroom take out the stairs going to the storage room. Camoflauge the door opening into the wall so you don't know it is there then use a ladder to access it or find another access point for that storage space door other than the master bathroom. Doing this will open up the floor for a very nice tub which will be a nice selling point for the Air BNB

the "dungeon area" would be a wonderful wine tasting area. put a wine fridge in along with a cute 4 person table

IMO you do the "major stuff" like the master bath, but you basically keep it as is. It's unique enough that people will remember it, nice enough that you would want to come back, and just beat up enough that if something happens you aren't pissed that something you just "fixed" needs to be fixed again!

Reminds me of the Winchester Mansion. All the different levels and hallways. Stairs leading to nothing, like the dungeon. Lol.

I love natural stained wood but with all the white trim, I think either white painted rafters or whitewash them to lighten them up. If the window trim, baseboards and doors were natural colored, then it the natural ceilings would be fine, but it is jarring to see the natural pine. The floor that had carpet can have the floor scars filled and the entire floor sanded then stained and sealed. It would look great. Since furniture covers a good portion of the floor, any imperfections would not be as noticeable anyway. With a good shine, you wouldn’t see any difference in color unless you’re looking for it.

Because it looks like they added onto that house with no plan, you should call it Mama's Mystery House as an ode to the Winchester mystery house

It reminds me of my uncles house and I love his farmhouse so I think the tiles and colors are fine. People staying don't have to see it for years. They'll be distracted anyway.

When Matt went up those steps in that bathroom and opened that door, I thought it was going to open up into a Sauna. Would of neat if it was.

In your AirBNB descriptions, you should mention that all three are "gun-friendly" properties, for travelers who will be transporting firearms.

I would turn the Dungeon room into plant room with a waterfall feature going down the stone wall, or make it a Koi pond. Keep the tiles in the kitchen and the cabinets, just paint the walls something other than yellow. Definitely stain the ceiling rafters a nice dark tone. The house is pretty awesome. Can’t wait to see what y’all do with it.

Make the dungeon a wine cellar, big jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom. Stock the pantry with basics and the fridges with beer and charge more. Sunsetter awnings outside for the summer.

You could make it into 3 units. Southern Comfort, Jim Bean wing, Jack Daniel's wing with all allow access to pool. Three families could have private space. Rent out 3 spaces....also have connected doors so you could rent entire "Wild Whiskey House"

For grandmas house if its possible combine the two lower patios into one large one. Lower deck can just have steps up leading to middle deck. Dungeon can possibly be a wine cellar/keg room with access to the cellar being an additional cost to the rental ( would be great for large groups renting the property).

Love mama's house! Great for family reunions, holidays, wedding parties. Kitchen is awesome paint the walls a lighter color, maybe change the paint only on cabinets under all the counters. Just fresh up the rest. Dungeon area reading/meditation room. On two of the decks definitely-master bedroom install automatic shades with remotes. Put in a sauna outside the pool. Master bathroom see if there is another are a you could put in a new access door to the storage areas, remove the stairs and install two person tub. Btw if there is access from garage into laundry room then the big opening is a passthrough for groceries and supplies so no up/down stairs. Consider gaming centers in kids living room with VR system too. Small gym in one of the small bedrooms with lots of windows for inspiration to the views.

Nice you have plumbing that high up in the house near the decks. Maybe be better for a small kitchen or bar area rather than putting a big bath in, although a toilet always useful.

Mamas house is a great place for many things. I was thinking family reunions before you ever said it which is awesome. One thing I was so excited to see it was three refrigerators. That’s very important if you are the host of a family reunion. Another thing you might think about putting in would be an ice machine. Refrigerator space and ice are always great. I really enjoyed the tour of the house, and I am excited to see what renovations you do. The yellow tile in the kitchen to me is old farmhouse kitchen. i’m excited to see what changes you make to this house. Thank you so much for sharing.

Those hooks are for hanging cast iron pans or any type of pans. I have my cast iron hanging on the wall.

I like the look of the older style it makes it feel like mommas house I would just fix the broken and finish the unfinished and leave the things that make it feel like mommas house it’s the look and the smells of an old house that gives that feeling

Awesome house, and the quirkiness works.
My suggestion would be to paint or stain the trusses a dark color to contrast with the lighter ceiling. I think that would give it a lot of visual dimension and more modern vibe.
The yellow paint doesn't work in the kitchen. A bright white paint would be nice and you will be able to provide the vibe and color thru decor. Decor is always cheaper to replace than tile and paint.
In the video, it looks like most things are in very good condition. I personally would not change big ticket items for esthetic reasons only.
It's a beautiful home, original, and organic. Love her for who she is!

The vaulted ceiling should be insulated to keep cooler in the summers and keep the heat in in the winters.
