    A symbol of change

Manoogian called his new product Delta for the Greek letter whose triangular shape mirrored the action of the ball valve.

    1958

    A Revolutionary Change

Manoogian buys the rights to the idea for a singlehandle water faucet, intrigued by the thought you could achieve the right mix of hot and cold water with a single lever. Tweaking the design to create a ball-valve faucet, he calls his new product Delta, the symbol of change. He and his sales team sell the new faucet from the trunks of their cars and, with sales at almost $4 million by 1958, Manoogian opens a factory in Greensburg, Indiana.
