What Is An Essential Oil Inhaler?

Essential oil inhalers are usually small plastic containers with a cotton wick and lid.

You simply open the container and add oils of your choice to the wick and screw it back together then inhale the oils.

They are portable and economical and perfect for personalizing your essential oil experience.

Since they fit in your pocket or purse you can use them anytime you need a boost.

What Essential Oils To Use In Your Inhaler?

The essential oils you put in your inhaler will vary depending on your health needs and can be single oils or blends.

Usually, the combination of oils is similar to what you would use in a diffuser but the number of drops may vary.

You may have to experiment a little to see what works best for you.

We’ve discovered we especially like to use personal inhalers for headaches, congestion, and car sickness.

Single oils to start with:

  • Peppermint – relieves headaches, nausea, and energizes
  • Eucalyptus – eases congestion
  • Lavender – calming and relaxing
  • Ginger – relieves nausea
  • Rosemary – helps you focus

Inhalers are really easy to make.

Just purchase theseblank inhaler tubes on Amazon and add the essential oils to the cotton piece in the nasal tube.

Add 2-10 drops of oil to the tube depending on the strength you want.

The great thing about making these inhalers is that you can refresh them at any time.

Simply open the tube and add more oils.

You can add just about any essential oil to your inhaler.

As I said earlier there are some “ready-made” blends you can try or you can combine oils to make your own oil special blend.

I’ve collected an assortment of blends for you here that we’ve tried and others are on our”to try list” if the need arises.
