Can I use Drawpile on my iPad? ›

The Web Browser version of Drawpile should work on all operating systems. For iPad and iPhone, it's the only option available. Currently, you can only join sessions this way, it's not yet possible to host your own.

You can download Drawpile for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. A Web Browser version is also available, which you can use to join sessions you're invited to. This works on just about any platform, including iPad and iPhone.

Drawpile is a collaborative drawing program that lets multiple people draw, sketch, paint and animate on the same canvas simultaneously. It's Free and Open Source software available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. There's also a Web version that works on all platforms, including iOS.

If pressure or the eraser on your pen isn't working, make sure that those are actually enabled in the settings. You can do so under Edit → Preferences in the Input tab under the “Enable pressure sensitivity” and “Detect eraser tip” settings.

Gimp is the best free digital art software on WIndows, Mac, and Linux. The open-source drawing app is as powerful as Adobe Photoshop, however, there is a learning curve to mastering the tool. The freemium Adobe Fresco is also worth trying, without having to pay for the full app.

Procreate

The iPad drawing app has taken the digital art world by storm with its many functions, versatile interface and 3D painting abilities (it's actually compatible with Zbrush, Blendr and others).
