There are no sweeter sewing projects than baby sewing projects. Today I’m excited to share 25 projects that are not only adorable but also practical for everyday use. From sweet bibs to cozy blankets, there are sos many great tutorials and patterns on this list that you will be sure to find something to make.

Baby Sewing Projects
Burp Cloths
1. Basic Burp Cloths: This might be hands down the easiest project on this list. My basic how to make a burp cloth tutorial is super simple and anyone can make these.
2. Burp Cloths Using Cricut Maker: If you have a Cricut Maker then Chelsea from Sew Simple Home has a free svg pattern for you to use your Cricut Maker to cut out your burp cloth pieces for you! I love using my Maker to cut out fabric.
3. Half Contour Burp Cloths: I make a lot of burp cloths that are rectangular because they are so easy but I designed these diy burp cloths with a cut in on one side so that they can sit nicely on your shoulder if you prefer this style.
4. Diaper Burp Cloths: This tutorial explains how to make a burp cloth from a diaper. Old school cloth diapers are super absorbent and adding a little fabric to them makes for a cute little baby shower gift.
Bibs
5. Bib Pattern for Beginners:Thisbib pattern is my most popular sewing pattern download. I drew this one out a few years ago and I love it! I hope you will too.
6. Bib with Ties: Lisa from Cucicucicoo has a free bib and burp cloth pattern using bias tape which I think gives them a nice pop of color around the edges. I love all the options she shares in her how-to post.
7. Bandana Bib: Some people prefer a bandana bib pattern.
Clothing
8. Baby Shorts: Heather from HeatherHandmade has a great pattern for baby shorts or bloomers in sizes 3, 6, and 12 months.
9. Easy Baby T-Shirt: You can make a baby t-shirt using this baby t-shirt pattern from Angel at Fleece Fun. The pattern is for sizes 3 months to 18 months.
10. Baby Romper: Heather from HeatherHandmade has a tutorial for how to turn a t-shirt into a romper with a romper pattern (size 6 months). This is such a great idea. We get so many free t-shirts and I think this is a good use of those.
11. Party Dress: I love the cute Holly and Ivy Party Dress Pattern by Chelsea from Sew Simple Home. It comes in infant size 0-3 months.
12. Baby Sundress Pattern: This super cute knit dress pattern comes in sizes 3 months to 18 months and is from Angel from Fleece Fun. She even has a video tutorial for it which makes it even easier!
13. Baby Romper Pattern: The ruffles on this romper pattern by Emily from Life Sew Savory are too adorable! The romper comes in sizes 0-12 months.
Blankets
14. Four Square Baby Quilt: Shelly from Coral + Co always makes the cutest stuff and this Four Square Baby Quilt is no exception. I love the modern look of quilts like this one.
Toys
15. Rainbow Soft Rattle: How cheerful is this rainbow rattle from Stephanie at Swoodson Says? I love rick rack and the use of it on this sweet little gift.
16. Crinkle Taggie Toy- I like any project that helps me use up scraps of pretty fabric leftover from other projects and this crinkle taggie toy by Lisa from Cucicucicoo one is a great use for those scraps.
Hats
17. Petal Hat: The Petal Hat by Chelsea from Sew Simple Home is such a great little hat for summer! It comes in 3 sizes: Small (3 months to 6 months), Medium (6 months to 12 months), and Large (12 months to 24 months).
18. Baby Hats: I had a winter baby and it was always fun when he had a cute little hat to coordinate with his outfit. Shelly from Coral + Co has a baby hat pattern for size preemie to 12 months that I love.
19. Baby Headband: Teeny tiny baby accessories are just the cutest. This baby headband pattern is by Shelly from Coral + Co and I think a batch of these from coordinating fabrics would make such a cute baby shower gift.
